There were vital points at stake last Wednesday evening as the Senior Dublin LGFA adult club championship reached the penultimate round of group games.

The two Group A games last Wednesday were of vital importance at both ends of the table.

Thomas Davis were already guaranteed their semi spot before they faced Kilmacud Crokes last Wednesday evening. Crokes themselves were all but there themselves but one more win cemented their semi final slot and they delivered defeating Davis by 3-09 to 0-04.

At the other end of the table Cuala and Clanna Gael Fontenoy battled it out with both teams still looking to secure their first points of the campaign and ease their relegation worries. And it was the Dalkey side who came out on top in an entertaining encounter which finished 4-10 to 2-10 to Cuala.

Things though were not so straight forward in Group B with four sides in the running for the two semi final spots.

Reigning champions Foxrock Cabinteely had their bye week this week, their opponents in last years decider Na Fianna hosted high flying St Sylvesters at their Mobhi Road venue knowing anything short of a win would all but end their ambitions of repeating their run of last year.

And they delivered against the previously unbeaten Sylvesters side with a hard fought 1-10 to 0-08 win.

The other game in the group involved Clontarf and Ballyboden St Endas. Clontarf lost their opening group game but followed that up with an excellent draw against Foxrock. But to have any chance of reaching the semi finals anything short of a win against bottom of the group Ballyboden St Endas and their dreams of county glory would be ended.

Boden though had worried of their own with the threat of relegation hanging over them and they played their part in a tense encounter which Clontarf came out the right side of by 2-13 to 2-11 which sets up a thrilling last round of games next Wednesday evening.
