O’Moore Park is the destination for today’s TG4 Senior Ladies Football Championship Clash

TG4 Senior Ladies Football Championship

Dublin v Waterford
Saturday, July 13th. 3:30pm
O’Moore Park, Portlaoise

The Leinster Championship has been put to bed with Dublin claiming their eight consecutive title. Now it’s the business end of the season. For Mick Bohan’s side it’s a chance to become All Ireland Champions for the third consecutive year. And it starts today.

Oonagh Whyte’s two goals, paired with Niamh McEvoy and Nicole Owen’s green flags buried Westmeath two weeks ago in Carlow in what was certainly a statement of intent following a mixed league campaign.

Sinead Goldrick returned to the fray in enigmatic style, but Dublin lost captain Sinead Aherne to a shoulder injury.

Today’s Dublin starting 15 includes three changes to the side that captured the Leinster Championship. Oonagh Whyte is replaced in the half forward line by Jennifer Dunne. Without Sinead Aherne, Lyndsey Davey comes in as an ample replacement. And Eabha Rutledge comes into the corner back position in place of Martha Byrne.

Waterford come into today’s game following a great 2019 so far. Division 1 football next year for the Deise after winning the Division 2 Lidl League competition. And the Waterford girls gave Cork a stern test in the Munster Final, only falling short in the second half. Fans can expect a close contest in Portlaoise this afternoon.
