We’ll have all the action from this afternoon’s TG4 Senior Football Championship game between Dublin and Monaghan

TG4 Senior Football Championship
Dublin v Monaghan
Saturday, July 27th. 2:00pm
Parnell Park, Dublin

Home advantage this afternoon should play a huge role as Dublin entertain Monaghan in this years TG4 Senior Football Championship

Mick Bohan’s side had 18 points to spare after their opening fixture against Waterford. Since then Wateford have beaten Monaghan by 27 points. So Dublin are expected to see off their opponents this afternoon.

It’s been a difficult season for Monaghan, who were also relegated from Division 1 of the Lidl National League, but this is a proud bunch and they will fight until the end against Dublin.

If Dublin finish, as expected, finish on top of the table, they’ll meet the winners of Sunday’s fixture between Kerry and Westmeath in the quarter-finals.

In terms of team talk, there’s good news for Dublin fans as injured captain Sinead Aherne and forward Carla Rowe are both named in the substitutions. Both players missed the opening group game against Waterford, Aherne picked up a shoulder injury 11 minutes into the Leinster final against Westmeath and Rowe has been a longer term absentee and hasn’t featured for Dublin since their National Football League semi-final loss to Cork back in April.
