The road to this year’s TG4 Senior Football Championship starts for Dublin this afternoon in Clann Mhuire

TG4 Senior Football Championship - Live Updates

Dublin v Cavan
Saturday, June 11th. 2:00pm
Clann Mhuire GAA, Dublin

It felt like we’d been waiting a long time for the business end of the season to commence, and all of a sudden it’s upon us. And for Dublin’s Senior Ladies Football panel the task at hand is to reclaim their beloved TG4 Senior Football Championship.

Meath outplayed Mick Bohan’s side in last year Championship decider, setting the tone for what has now become a very competitive rivalry. Many expect the 2 giants to lock horns again in this year’s tournament, but for now both must traverse the round robin competition to qualify for the knockout series.

For Dublin, they play 3 games in Group A, starting today with a home tie against Cavan. They then travel to Tipperary before facing Mayo on neutral turf in the final round.

After seeing off Meath to lift the Leinster Senior Football title, Mick Bohan has shuffled his pack ahead of the clash with Cavan, making four changes in personnel. There are starts for co-captains Niamh Collins and Carla Rowe, with Lauren Magee and former skipper Sinéad Aherne also set to line out. Dropping out of the team for this one are Orlagh Nolan, Jennifer Dunne, Sinead Wylde and Nicole Owens.
