This afternoon’s TG4 Senior Football Championship Semi Final will be a massive test for Mick Bohan’s Dublin panel

TG4 Senior Football Championship

Dublin v Cork
Sunday, August 25th. 3:45pm
Croke Park, Dublin

The quest for three consecutive TG4 Senior football titles continues today as Dublin head for Croke Park. In a repeat of last year’s Championship Final, Mick Bohan’s side face Cork, their toughest test to date, and the team standing in the way of yet another TG4 Championship final.

The sun is expected to shine in the capital this afternoon for the Championship double header, with the big hitters throwing in at 3:45pm.

Cork have laid down the marker this year, claiming a five-point victory in Round 7 of the league, before ending Dublin’s reign as League Champions in a stunning semi-final at Nowlan Park, a fixture that required extra-time to separate them.

The girls from the rebel county went on to claim the League silverware on offer, before landing the Munster title.

Dublin made it eight-in-a-row in Leinster and Mick Bohan’s charges followed that up with big wins against Waterford and Monaghan in the group stages, before defeating Kerry in the All-Ireland quarter-finals.

Captain Sinéad Aherne has been in scorching form in her last two games, scoring 1-11 against Monaghan, before adding 2-5 in the Kerry win.
