The final showdown of the year as Dublin face Kerry to try claim another TG4 Senior Football Championship Crown
Dublin v Kerry
TG4 Senior Football Championship Final
Sunday, August 13th. 4:00pm
Croke Park, Dublin
Beaten twice by Kerry already this year, Dublin will put both those results behind them this afternoon with the biggest prize on offer, the TG4 Senior Football Championship. What will stand to Mick Bohan’s panel is a vast amount of big game experience at GAA Headquarters.
In their LIDL National Football League clash back in February Kerry made their 2023 intentions clear beating the Dubs by 3-15 to 1-10 at Austin Stack Park. And they brought that momentum into this year’s championship when they visited Parnell Park in June. The girls from the kingdom muscled their way to a 2-08 to 1-09 victory over the home side.
It was 1993 when Kerry last captured the Brendan Martin Cup, with 2020 being the last time Mick Bohan saw his side claim the silverware. Dublin left the championship behind them in 2021 when beaten by Meath. Meath went on to claim a second in a row beating Kerry in last year’s decider, so both of today’s opponents will have that recent hunger to drive them over the line.
Both of this year’s TG4 Senior Championship Top Scorers, Louise Ní Mhuircheartaigh and Carla Rowe will be on display today in what’s expected to be a battle for the ages.
