Ladies Live Updates

Live updates on www.twitter.com/wearedub and www.wearedublin.com from the Dublin’s TG4 All Ireland Fixture against Cavan

Dublin v Cavan
Saturday, July 21st. 2:00pm
Lann Leire GAA Club, Dunleer

It feels as if the Dublin Senior Ladies Football panel are only warming down from winning their seventh consecutive Leinster title after defeating Westmeath in Netwatch Cullen Park on July 1st, but now Mick Bohan and his team will set their sights on the defence of their All Ireland title.

First up for Dublin in the round robin section is a trip to Dunleer to take on Cavan. And Dublin have made a few changes to starting line that outclassed Westmeath in the Provincial decider. Niamh Collins, Lauren Magee, Carla Rowe and Oonagh Whyte will all start for the Dubs, with Deirdre Murphy, Sinead Goldrick, Noelle Healy and Hannah O’Neill all making way for them.

Cavan haven’t had the best start to their championship, losing to Mayo in a very entertaining game of football last weekend. Manager James Daly will be hoping his chargers can bounce back this Saturday against a Dublin side who have just the one championship outing under their belt, to date. He names an unchanged side the team that were beaten last weekend.

It’s very much new territory for both side, having never met each other in the championship so this has all the makings of enthralling game of football. This is Cavan’s final round game, with Dublin finishing off the group stages against Mayo next weekend, and we’ll know then who will contest this years All Ireland Semi Finals.
