We’re making the trip to Cavan this afternoon as Dublin take on Armagh for a slot in this year’s TG4 All Ireland Final
Dublin v Armagh
Saturday, November 28th. 4:30pm
Kingspan Breffni Park, Cavan
Dublin’s Senior Ladies footballers only have 2 more games reamining in their hope of retaining the TG4 All Ireland title for a fourth consecutive year. And if they’re successful over Armagh this evening Mick Bohan’s charges will appear in their seventh Championship Final in a row. But Armagh are challenging to appear in their first decider sicne 2006.
Originally scheduled for Semple Stadium, the game now takes place in Kingspan Breffni Park in Cavan at 4:30pm today. And it’s expected to be a close encounter, with the winners facing either Cork or Galway in the 2020 showdown.
A daunting task for Armagh as they attempt to stop the reigning three time All Ireland Champions, but not beyond the Ulster outfit. But with Aimee Mackin and Kelly Mallon showcasing her eye for scores, Armagh amounted a huge 10-28 in two games over Tyrone and Mayo to reach this afternoon’s last four clash.
Dublin came out of their group on top with two hard fought wins over Donegal and Waterford. Their strength of course is the diversity in their scoring arsenal, with as many as twelve players hitting the target over the two games. Sinead Aherne has again found her scoring boots, registering 1-12.
Sinead Goldrick and Siobhan McGrath return to the starting line up further bolstering this Dublin panel. Armagh are unchanged from the side that started and beat Mayo on their last outing.
