We’ll have all the action from Kilkenny this afternoon in the National Football League last four match
Dublin v Cork
Sunday, April 21st. 2:00pm
Nowlan Park, Kilkenny
There’s no doubt that all eyes will be on Nowlan Park on this afternoon. Dublin and Cork face off for a place in this year’s Lidl National League Division 1 Final. Dublin’s starting line-up is definitely a statement of intent. Mick Bohan has name thirteen starters from the 2018 All-Ireland Senior Final. Cork start with seven of their Championship final side, but manager Ephie Fitzgerald could make some late alterations.
Cork definitely have firepower to come off the bench. Captain Doireann O’Sullivan and Eimear Scally can come on, while Saoirse Noonan is also listed among the subs after recovering from a serious knee injury. For Dublin, it’s arguable that there really isn’t a better forward six in the country. And when players like Carla Rowe, Niamh McEvoy, Lyndsey Davey, Sinead Aherne, Noelle Healy and Nicole Owens come together, you know we’re in for a scoring masterclass.
These sides may well meet again in the white heat of championship but, for now, they’ll be anxious to lay down a marker. Dublin are League champions while Cork, who lost to Mayo in the 2018 semi-final, will hope for a first final appearance since winning five-in-a-row two years ago.
The result between these two sides in the final round of the league competition will mean nothing today as Dublin aim to retain their league title.
