Lidl Ireland National Football League

It’s Round 4 of the Lidl Ireland National Football League, and Dublin welcome Westmeath to Home Turf

Dublin v Westmeath
Sunday, March 3rd. 2:00pm
DCU St. Clare’s

Westmeath have suffered some big championship defeats against Dublin in recent years. The Sky Blues are the reigning Lidl National League Division 1 and TG4 All-Ireland champions. And they’ve recovered well from an opening day League defeat to Donegal.

While still not firing on all cylinders, and with manager Mick Bohan taking the chance to run the rule over his panel, the Dubs have still managed wins against Tipperary and Mayo.

Westmeath’s victory over Monaghan could yet be the game that sees them survive relegation again.

This game is an early dress-rehearsal ahead of a summer TG4 Leinster Senior Final. And Westmeath will aim to be as competitive as possible.

Mick Bohan has made eight changes to his Dublin Ladies Football starting side to face Westmeath today in round four of the Lidl Ladies National Football League.

Into the reshuffled side come Noelle Healy, Rachel Ruddy, Emma McDonagh, Sarah Fagan, Jennifer Dunne, Carla Rowe, Kate Sullivan and Siobhan Killeen with Martha Byrne, Kate Fitzgibbon, Siobhan McGrath, Lucy Collins, Siobhan Woods, Oonagh Whyte, Lyndsey Davey and Niamh McEvoy dropping to the bench.

Dublin Boss Mick Bohan traditionally uses the early rounds of the Lidl NFL to look at all the options available to him in his squad – giving plenty of game time to fringe players and blooding new talent, so a large number of changes to his Dublin Ladies Football starting team at this time of the year is not unusual.
