Captains and Managers were in attendance in Croke Park today for the LGFA Club All Ireland Finals Captains Day. The Intermediate and Senior Finals will be played as a double header in Parnell Park (Dublin) on the 4th of December at 1pm and 2.45pm respectively. The Junior Final will be played in Dr Cullen Park (Carlow) on Saturday the 3rd of December at 1pm.

A semi-final replay in the Junior competition will be contested between St Maurs (Dublin) and Latton (Monaghan). This will take place in Latton on Saturday 26th at 1pm.

Senior Club All Ireland Final

The senior competition will be contested by the 2015 Champions Donaghmoyne of Monaghan and ambitious South Dublin Club Foxrock Cabinteely.

Since 2005, although Donaghmoyne have contested 6 All Ireland Senior Finals, winning 4, they have never managed to achieve back to back titles. Defeating Foxrock Cabinteely on the 4th of December would see the Monaghan achieve this and a total of 5 titles in 11 years.

Previous Monaghan star Amanda Casey captains the team with numerous other past and present Monaghan players alongside her. 2015 TG4 All Star Linda Martin is expected to line out in goals and it is highly likely that all 5 sisters of the Courtney family will get starting jerseys.

Foxrock Cabinteely have enjoyed progressive success over the last number of years. In 2015 it was Donaghmoyne that ended their Championship journey when they defeated them in the All Ireland Semi Final. As with Donaghmoyne, Foxrock have notable players in the form of Dublin’s Sinead Goldrick and Niamh Collins, Westmeath star Fiona Claffey and Louth’s Ann- Marie Murphy.

Intermediate All Ireland Club Final

The Intermediate Final will be contested by Annaghdown (Galway) and Shane O’Neills (Armagh). Annaghdown who had a hard fought semi-final win over Abbeyside of Waterford will be led by former Galway star Niamh Duggan. Niamh will be well accustomed to Parnell Park having played in a Dublin County Final there with her then club Fingallians.

Although the Shane O’Neills club has grown from a small area in Armagh it has produced some of the Counties best known footballers in Aimee and Blaithín Mackin.

Junior All Ireland Club Final

Competition has been fierce in this grade with St Maurs (Dublin) and Latton (Monaghan) needing a replay to find a winner. The drawn game took place in St Maurs in front of a huge crowd. The replay will be in Latton on Saturday the 26th at 1pm.

Waiting on the other side of the draw is Cork side Kinsale. Kinsale will be led from defence and attack as Captain Aisling Judge plays in goal and Cork County star Orla Finn will be the go to player in the forward line.
