Leinster Senior Ladies Football Semi Final

Simonstown v Foxrock Cabinteely
Saturday, October 20th. 2:30pm
Simonstown GAA Grounds

Four in a row chasing Foxrock Cabinteely will make the short trip to Navan this afternoon as they take on Meath Champions Simonstown in the Ladies Football provincial semi final. The girls again solidified their dominance in Dublin. And captured their fourth New Ireland Assurance Senior Championship title a few weeks ago. St. Brigids were again the challenge for Fox Cab. A 1-13 to 0-07 score was enough to get them another county title. Laura Nerney’s goal and point, and scores from Any Connolly, Amy Ring, Tarah O’Sullivan, Hannah O’Neill and Fiona Claffey displayed the plethora of scoring option available to the Champions.

The Foxes’ fourth Dublin senior title was their most convincing since an emphatic win kicked off this run back in 2015. And their fluid attacking play again came to the fore, which could well take them deep into the All Ireland. But not before they traverse the Leinster landscape.

Only a week later Fox Cab started the defence of their Leinster crown. A more than convincing victory over Wexford champions Shelmaliers in Bray Emmets. 4-19 to 1-05 was the scoreline on the day again showcased the Foxes vast experience at this level, easily finding themselves in today’s Semi Final.
