This Is The First Senior Club Championship Final Meeting Between Foxrock Cabinteely And Kilmacud Crokes
Kilmacud Crokes are aiming to halt Foxrock Cabinteely lifting their fifth Dublin LGFA Senior club title in a row by winning their maiden senior title this evening in Parnell Park.
Crokes gained senior championship status back in 2014 and will be appearing in the first club championship final at the grade this evening against the side that knocked them out at the semi final stage for the past four years.
Foxrock have ruled the club scene since 2012 in Dublin winning five of the last seven championships including the last four and the question is can Crokes stop their bid for the five in a row.
Both southside rivals boast a host of Dublin’s three-in-row winning squad in their ranks and but county friendships will be put aside this evening as these fierce rivals go toe to toe and tonight’s clash has all the makings of a classic.
Kilmacud looked highly impressive in their 7-15 to 2-06 semi final win over St Sylvesters last Monday night and they will head into tonight’s final brimming with confidence and are a serious threat going forward that is perfectly complimented by a solid defensive unit.
Foxrock Cabinteely were given a fright in their semi final six days ago as they found themselves ten points in arrears after the first quarter of their game against Thomas Davis.
But the reigning champions slowly settled into the game and their experience at this level won out in the end to secure a three point win on a scoreline of 4-06 to 2-09.
A similar slow start tonight against Crokes though could spell trouble the holders as Crokes are well capable of notching up a big lead that Foxrock could struggle to reel back in.
The action in Parnell Park this evening gets underway at 7.30pm.
