With both Dublin and Roscommon capable of running up big scores it should be an action packed All Ireland U16A semi final
Dublin manager Fintan Keeling has announced his team selection for tonight’s All Ireland U16A semi-final clash with Roscommon in Kinnegad at 7.30pm.
Eight weeks ago Dublin won the U16 Leinster title defeating Meath in the final by 3-09 to 2-06. Dublin also defeated Meath by 4-09 to 2-09 and Laois by 5-09 to 0-04 in the group stages of the provincial competition.
Their opponents in tonight’s All Ireland semi final Roscommon, won their first ever U16A Connacht title in May defeating Sligo in the final by 3-10 to 2-07.
Along the way to provincial glory they also defeated the two sides that have dominated Connacht football at the U16 grade for many years, Galway and Mayo.
With both sides out of competitive action for the guts of eight weeks tonight’s result may come down to whichever side can find their provincial form in the early period of the game.
The winner of tonight’s semi final will play either Cork or Cavan in the All-Ireland final on Wednesday 13th of July. Dublin last won the title back in 2010 defeating Kerry in the final.
