Dublin’s Senior Ladies footballers found out yesterday who they will be facing in the quarter finals of the TG4 Senior All Ireland Championship.
It was expected by many that Dublin would be facing Galway who were the favourites to win their qualifier game against Donegal which took place yesterday afternoon.
But the girls from the northwest were not about to follow the script and pulled off a shock one point victory with the last kick of the game which finished 3-15 to 4-11 in Donegal’s favour.
So on Saturday week the 13th of August, Gregory McGonigle’s Dublin side will take on Donegal in the All Ireland Championship quarter final in Glennon Brothers Pearse Park in Longford at 6.30pm.
Donegal will arrive on Saturday week brimming with confidence after yesterday’s victory and will feel they have nothing to lose, but Leinster Champions Dublin have their sights firmly set on a return to Croke Park in September and some unfinished business and on current form will take some stopping from full filling that goal.
So it sets it up for what should be a really intriguing, hard fought and rip roaring quarter final that is definitely not one to be missed. #COYGIB
