The Leinster Minor Football Championship Begins For Dublin This Friday Evening

A Dublin ladies footballer just about to kick a shot at goal, Dublin get their 2020 leinster minor football championship underway this Friday evening against Meath.

Commiserations to our senior team who despite a late second half rally lost out to Cork on Saturday night in Croke Park by the minimum of margins FT Score Cork 0-08 Dublin 1-04.

Next up for Dublin is a home game versus Galway on February 23rd details regarding the venue / time to be confirmed shortly.

Leinster Minor Football Championship:

Our minor team get their 2020 Leinster championship campaign underway this coming Friday night, February 14th with an away fixture to reigning Leinster minor champions Meath.

Dublin are awaiting confirmation on the match venue / time from Leinster Council and will post details on our social media platforms and website once all details have been confirmed.

A big thank you to all who supported our Minor teams fund raising quiz last Friday night in Fingallians GAA club.

February County Committee Meeting:

A meeting will take place on Tuesday 18th of February of the Dublin LGFA County Board the main item on the agenda will be the ratification of the 2020 Juvenile league gradings (which will be circulated out to club secretaries well in advance of the meeting).

Each club prior to the meeting on the 18th of February is required to confirm the names of their County Board delegates for the forthcoming season.

Club delegates must be registered LGFA members in order to have speaking and voting rights at county board meetings reminder also that one out of the three club delegates must be a registered adult female player.

Important Dates:

The proposed commencement date of the 2020 Juvenile season is the weekend of the 29th February / 1st of March (U10 to minor) with U8 and U9 competitions commencing on the 21st / 22nd of March.

Feile Atha Cliath will take place on the 4th / 5th of April as proposed and seconded by club delegates at the meeting of the Dublin LGFA County Board held on the 4th of February last.

Clubs still to pay their team entries (affiliations) are required to do so as a matter of urgency while all club mentors should verify the registration status of all players ahead of the new playing season be especially careful to check that new or returning players are registered and therefore covered under the rules of the LGFA injury fund scheme.
