New Championship and Shield champions were crowned this week with Wednesday’s Dublin LGFA championship and shield final results bringing the curtain down on a number of Junior championships.

Senior Shield Final

The Senior Championship final takes place tomorrow but the senior shield final took place on Wednesday evening as Clontarf and Fingallians met for the chance to end their respective seasons with some silverware.

The game took place in Lawless Park the home ground of Fingallians, but it wasn’t to be for the Swords outfit on the night as Clontarf proved to have too much firepower and ran out comfortable winners on a scoreline of 4-13 to 1-08.

Junior B Championship Final

Longmeadows was the venue for the meeting between Scoil Uí Chonaill and St Brendans on Wednesday evening.

Both sides had met in round 3 of the competition and on that occasion it was Scoil Uí Chonaill who came out on top by 4-11 to 3-05.

The final proved a much tighter affair and could have gone either way with barely a bounce of the ball between the teams at the finish. Once again it was Scoil Uí Chonaill who prevailed by a slender two point margin with the final score 1-12 to 1-10.

Junior B Shield Final

Kilmacud Crokes B and Erins Isle battled it out in the Junior B shield final in Pairc De Burca on Wednesday night.

Isle’s found the Stillorgan outfit in top attacking form in the game which produced a scoring tally of 11-21 between the two sides. Crokes though raised seven green flags in the high scoring affair which paved the way for them to claim the shield title on a scoreline of 7-13 to 4-08.

Junior C Championship Final

Naomh Olaf and Ballyboden St Endas C faced off in the Junior C championship final in Pairc Ui Bhrian in midweek.

Unfortunately for Ballyboden St Endas C they found Naomh Olaf in scintillating form as they dominated the game and ran out comfortable winners by 2-14 to 0-04.

Junior C Shield Final

Castleknock’s Somerton venue hosted the Junior C shiel final between the home side and Whitehall Colmcille on Wednesday.

Both sides contributed handsomely to a entertaining and tight final which Whitehall Colmcille won with four points to spare at the full time with the final score 2-12 to 2-08.

Junior D Championship Final

The Junior D championship final was between Naom Mearnóg and Garristown on Wednesday’s and was streamed Live on Facebook.

Those that tuned in were treated to a highly entertaining encounter with scores galore from the two sides. But Naomh Mearnóg had the extra edge up front and scored six majors in the game on their way to lifting the Junior D title on a scoreline of 6-16 to 1-11.

Junior E Championship Final

Another of the Live streamed games was the meeting of St Sylvesters B and Round Towers Lusk for the Junior E championship title with the game taking place in Broomfield.

Again viewers weren’t disappointed with the fare on offer as both teams played out a thrilling encounter with some eye catching scores thrown in for good measures.

It was the home side though who celebrated at the finish as Sylvesters prevailed by five points to lift the title on a scoreline of 3-12 to 2-10.

Junior E Shield Final

Last but not least was the Junior E Shield Final between Trinty Gaels and Fingal Ravens in Rolestown on Wednesday evening and was another of the games Live streamed on Facebook.

The two evenly matched teams battled it out over sixty plus minutes in what turned out to be a very tight encounter.

But that old adage of goals win games certainly came home to roost in this one as Fingal Ravens notched up four green flags to Trinity Gaels two and was the deciding factor in giving Ravens the shield title with the game finishing 4-13 to 2-13.
