Another five huge Inter County Fixtures to contend this week.
Week Ending Sunday, July 1st 2018
With the Senior Footballers bringing last week to an end, capturing a record eight Leinster titles, it’s time to take a look at this week’s fixtures. And there are some massive games coming up.
Electric Ireland Leinster Minor Football Championship
We’re into Round 4 of the Minor Football competition and Wednesday sees Dublin take on Wicklow. It’s a home tie for the Dubs as Parnell Park will host the game.
Two wins from three sees Dublin second in the Group 1 table just below Meath so they’ll be looking for a win against Wicklow before taking on Westmeath in their final round game. Throw in is 7:30pm
Electric Ireland Leinster Minor Hurling Championship
Saturday is Leinster Minor Hurling Final day and after a semi final win against Wexford last week, Dublin have booked their place. They’ll take on Kilkenny, the only side to beat them in the group phase of the competition.
Dublin followed the loss with wins over Laois, Wexford and Antrim, and of course were victorious again against Wexford at the weekend.
The game is down for O’Moore Park and throw in on Saturday is 3:00pm.
All Ireland Minor Ladies Football Semi Final
Laois, Kildare and Meath all suffered defeats to eventual Championship Dublin in this year’s Minor Ladies Football Championship, and the girls in blue start their All Ireland campaign this Saturday afternoon. A road trip to Nenagh is on the cards as McDonagh Park will host their Semi Final against Cork.
Last year Galway beat the Dubs at this point in the competition, so they’ll want to do one better and book a place in this year’s Final. Throw in is 3:15pm in Nenagh.
Eirgrid Leinster U20 Football Championship
Dublin’s U20 Footballers have reached the semi finals of this inaugural Championship format with convincing results against Longford, Westmeath and Wexford. Their opponents on Saturday evening will be old rivals Meath and the Dubs will travel to Pairc Tailteann for this fixture.
Throw in in Navan will be 7:30pm, with the winner advancing to the Leinster Final on July 7th.
TG4 Leinster Ladies Senior Football Championship
Mick Bohan’s Senior Ladies Football panel will make the trip to Carlow this Sunday in the hope of retaining their coveted Leinster Championship. They’ll be facing familiar opponents in Westmeath, who have been worthy adversaries over the years.
The reigning Leinster and All Ireland Champions have had a long break since winning the Lidl Ireland National Football League Division 1 title at the beginning of May but will be primed and ready for this Sunday’s encounter. Throw in at Netwatch Cullen Park is 4:00pm
And that’s all the details for this weeks games. Make sure you’re out showing your support for all Dublin’s Inter County panels.
