At 5pm on Saturday evening a very important piece of history will be made when the first ever Ladies Football League fixture will take place in Croke Park with the meeting of Dublin and Mayo.

First and foremost it’s a vital game for both teams with League semi final places still to be decided and for Mayo the threat of relegation is still very much a reality, all of which sets it up to be a thriller in the making.

And if the last meeting between the two sides in last years All Ireland Semi Final is anything to go by, then supporters are in for a real treat on Saturday evening.

That last clash had everything you could want in a game, skill, athleticism, hard tackles, a bit of needle, brilliant point and goal scoring and last minute drama as Dublin, after a great fight back from Mayo in the second half, grabbed victory with a stunning Sinead Aherne free.

Saturday’s meeting should be more of the same from two very good squads and is a game not to be missed. If you didn’t catch the game either in person or on TV, you can enjoy the highlights from last years All Ireland Semi Final between the teams below. #coygib
