Dublin captain Sinead Aherne has moved to the top of the Dublin National Football League scoring leaderboard following her impressive 1-03 total in last Sunday’s league win over Galway.
This follows on from 3-03 the St Sylvesters sharpshooter scored against Monaghan in round five.
Sinead’s total of 4-08 (4f) is extremely impressive considering she has only played two full games and two late cameo second half substitution appearances in this seasons league to date.
Hot on Aherne’s heels is Lyndsey Davey with a scoring total of 3-08 and just a further point back in third place is Siobhan Killeen with 3-07.
Next on the list is Carla Rowe with 1-10 and she is followed in the list by Nicole Owens and Niamh McEvoy with 1-06 each.
Another late returner to the panel is Noelle Healy is next with 1-03 and on the same total is Siobhan Woods with 2-00
Forward Oonagh Whyte has scored 0-04, but the scoring is not just confined to the forwards, midfielder Jennifer Dunne has chipped in with 0-04 and half back Aoife Kane has ventured upfield to score 0-03.
The scoring leaderboard is rounded off by Hannah O’Neill, Niamh Hetherton and Orlagh Nolan with 0-01 apiece.
Dublin have amassed a huge total of 111 points in their six league games to date an average 18.5 points per game and is a testament to the enormous array of scoring talent they have at their disposal.
If you take into account that Sinead Aherne and Noelle Healy have only returned fully to the team in the previous two games and other forwards including the likes of Niamh McEvoy and Carla Rowe also haven’t started every game, when fully up to speed and available Dublin have a seriously potent selection of scoring forwards.
The only team ahead of Mick Bohan’s team in the overall scoring charts are Cork who Dublin meet in Mallow in their final regulation division 1 game on the 7th of April.
