The draw for the 2022 TG4 Leinster Senior Ladies Championship took place yesterday evening in Portlaoise.
The draw for the 2022 TG4 Leinster Senior Ladies Football Championship took place last night as the competition returns to the playing calendar for the first time since 2019.
There are three teams involved, holders Dublin, All Ireland Senior champions Meath and last seasons All Ireland intermediate champions Westmeath.
This years Leinster Senior Championship will comprise a series of round robin fixtures with the top two teams contesting the final.
Dublin will begin their Leinster Championship against Westmeath on the 30th of April. The teams last met in the competition in the 2019 final which Dublin won by 4-11 to 1-07 to claim their eight Mary Ramsbottom Cup in a row.
In round two on the 7th of May Dublin will face off against Meath, both sides play each other in early March in their final group game of the Lidl National Football League and could also potentially meet in the League final ahead of their Leinster round two showdown.
Mick Bohan’s Dublin side will have a bye in round three with the meeting of Westmeath and Meath rounding off the round robin phase of the competition.
The top two teams after the round robin series of games will contest the Leinster Senior Final on the 28th of May in Croke Park which will form part of a double header with the men’s Leinster Senior Football Final.
Details on all the throw-times and venues for the round robin fixtures will be confirmed by the Leinster Council in due course.
