One thing people will hopefully remember from this year AIB Leinster Hurling Championship was the rise of Cuala’s young Con O’Callaghan.
Also a rising star with Dublin’s Inter County footballers, O’Callaghan has quite literally shot the lights out during this year’s championship.
Top scorer on 7-13 in four games, Con is just ahead of his team mate David Treacy who has scored 0-30. And the Cuala faithful will be hoping this sharp shooter will be on point tomorrow afteroon.
This week O’Callaghan sat down with GAA.ie to talk about his GAA club. The young Dubliner details which local areas contribute to Cuala GAA and help contribute to a thriving underage section, and which individuals have helped put structures in place including the strong family links in Cuala.
O’Callaghan reflects on his earliest memories of playing for the club in both hurling and football, and how the involvement of parents of players in the past with the club is helping inspire the current squad to push on for honours.
