No TV Coverage? We’ve got you covered for tonight’s Leinster Senior Hurling Championship Clash
Dublin v Galway
Saturday, June 15th. 7:00pm
Parnell Park, Dublin
A capacity crowd will descend on Dublin’s Donnycarney Head Quarters tonight as Matty Kenny and his Senior Hurling panel roll the dice one more time in the hope of qualifying for this year’s All Ireland Championship.
The faith of their season is well and truly in their own hands. Dublin welcome the Tribesmen of Galway onto home soil for their final round in the Leinster Senior Hurling Championship. A win is the only result that Mattie Kenny will want in his first year in charge. Their Leinster status is secure, but Dublin will want to improve on last year’s season.
There are two certain outcomes that will guarantee Dublin’s path to the All Ireland. Wexford and Dublin win tonight they both contest the Leinster Final. Galway would be level on points. But they’d lose out to Dublin on the head to head rule and so progress to the All-Ireland preliminary quarter finals.
Kilkenny and Dublin win tonight then they would contest the Leinster Final. Galway would again advance to the All-Ireland preliminary quarter-final.
The only other possible route to the All Ireland would be if Dublin and Galway draw tonight and Kilkenny beat Wexford. It would leave Dublin and Wexford level on points and equal in the head to head. But with Dublin’s lesser score difference they’d need to score eight more points than Wexford tonight to overtake them in the table standings.
Nothing is impossible, and based on Dublin’s performances to date, we could be in for a huge game in front of a sold out Parnell Park tonight.
