Dublin manager Mattie Kenny has named his side to face Galway in tomorrow’s Walsh Cup Semi Final
Dublin v Galway
Sunday, January 13th. 2:00pm
Parnell Park, Dublin
We’re into the knockout stages of the Leinster pre-season tournaments with the Dublin Senior Footballers taking on Meath tonight in the O’Byrne Cup Semi Finals. But tomorrow will see the sternest test yet for Mattie Kenny’s Senior Hurlers as the Tribesmen of Galway come to Donnycarney as their opponents in this year’s Walsh Cup Semi Final. And nothing would be sweeter than getting a positive result over their league and championship rivals.
The Dubs have had a clean sweep to date in the competition, beating Carlow, Offaly and Laois to top the group table and qualify for tomorrow’s last four clash. And the Dublin boss has named an almost unchanged side to the team that beat Laois last weekend in O’Moore Park. Back then Fergal Whitely replaced an injured Cian Boland on the half hour mark and remains in the half forward line for this game. Jake Malone moves into the midfield with Rian McBride, who was a last minute change for the Laois game and he also retains his starting position.
The prize on offer tomorrow is a place in the Bord Na Mona competition final, against the winners of the Wexford v Kilkenny game, which takes place at the same time in Bellefield, Enniscorthy.
