Round 2 of the Go Ahead Senior 1 Hurling Championship has concluded as we head into a break until Mid August

Senior 1 Hurling Championship

With 2 Rounds completed this year’s Dublin Senior 1 Hurling Championship will break now until August 13th. It makes way for the beginning of the 2022 Dublin Senior Football Championship, which throws in on August 5th. Yesterday, 4 hurling games were played out at O’Toole Park and Parnell Park. Here’s the run down on those results.

Senior 1 Hurling Championship, Group 1

St. Oliver Plunkett Eoghan Ruadh suffered their second straight defeat in the Championship as Cuala get up and running. Following their bye Cuala ran out 2-23 to 3-16 winners at O’Toole Park. It sets the former Champions up nicely as they prepare for their Round 3 tie with Na Fianna on August 13th.

Ballyboden St. Endas are now two for two as they saw off St. Judes yesterday. A slightly closer affair then their opener against Plunketts. But Boden were 6 point victors on a 1-18 to 1-12 scoreline. Boden don’t play now until August 27th having their bye in Round 3. Judes will face Plunketts in the next round returning to O’Toole Park.

Senior 1 Hurling Championship, Group 2

Lucan Sarsfield bounced back from their opening round defeat to St. Vincents with a 1-22 to 1-14 win over Craobh Chiarain yesterday at Parnell Park. Sadly for Chiarain’s that’s two straight losses and they’ll have a difficult task on August 13th as they take on Vincents.

The Marino men were held to a 2-16 to 1-19 draw against St. Brigids, which sees Vincents slightly ahead of the pack in Group 2. They’ll look to add 2  points to their tally in the next Round, with Brigids taking on reigning champions Kilmacud Crokes.

Lucan will lock horns with Crokes on August 27th as they have their bye in the next round.
