Ballyboden St. Endas v Lucan Sarsfields
Parnell Park. 2:15pm
Tomorrow will see four teams battle it out for a semi final slot in this year’s Senior 1 Hurling Championship. Cuala and Kilmacud Crokes have already secured their places in the last four of the competition. Both sides won four out of four round games to finish top of their respective groups. So the teams placed second and third will square off tomorrow in a quarter final competition.
Ballyboden St. Endas only dropped points in Group 1 to Cuala and come out as runners up. WIns over St. Oliver Plunkett Eoghan Ruadh, St. Judes and Na Fianna saw them place ahead of Na Fianna who qualify in third position. Boden’s opponents Lucan Sarsfields looked in trouble after losing to St. Vincents and Kilmacud Crokes. But a final round win over St. Brigids secured third place on Group 2 a place in tomorrow’s Quarter Finals. There’s been some great tussles between these 2 sides over the years and with everything at stake tomorrow we should expect the same.
St. Vincents v Na Fianna
Parnell Park. 4:00pm
In the second of the two quarter finals northside rivals St. Vincents and Na Fianna lock horns in Parnell Park at 4:00pm. Vincents finished in second place in Group 2 1 point ahead of Lucan. They started well beating Lucan in Round 1, but dropped points in the next round drawing with St. Brigids. And after a 2-20 to 2-13 win over Craobh Chiarain they were beaten by reigning champions Crokes in their final round game.
Na Fianna did enough against St. Judes and Plunketts in Round 1 and Round 5 to secure third place in Group 1 behind Cuala and Ballyboden. But with plenty of fire power up front they’ll feel they’ve nothing to lose facing the men from Marino tomorrow afternoon.
We’ll be keeping an eye on all the action tomorrow, but if you want to stay updated you can always follow Dub Match Tracker on Twitter who will have score by score updates throughout both games.
