Week Ending February 18th.
This weekend is all about the small ball as Camogie and Hurling take centre stage.
Saturday evening is Round 3 of the National Hurling League and Pat Gilroy takes his panel to the Gaelic Grounds to face Limerick, who sit top of the table with Galway, both two for two.
Dublin will look to build on their recent victory over Antrim and will want to come away with a result. Throw in time is 7:00pm.
Sunday is all about Camogie with three games to take in.
Dublin’s Premier Junior Camogie panel get their Division 2 Littlewoods League campaign underway following their successful Division 3 campaign last year. They’ll travel to Tipperary for their first fixture and manager Shane Plowman will certainly be looking for the best start following their exploits in both the league and championship. Venue and time will be confirmed later.
At 2:00pm Dublin’s Senior Camogie panel will travel to WIT Carriganore where they’ll face Waterford in their fourth Littlewoods league fixture. The girls got their first win against Meath last weekend and will be looking to build on that result. And like Dublin, Waterford have also won, drawn and lost games so far so it’s a level playing field.
Finally, at 2:30pm Parnells GAA will host the opening All Ireland Minor A Camogie game between Dublin and Cork. The Dublin team will also be facing Wexford, Kilkenny and Galway over the coming weeks in the hope of reaching the knockout stages of this hugely competitive championship again.
And there you have it. Hurling and Camogie to get your teeth into over the weekend. Be sure to show your support to all the teams involved and stay tuned to www.wearedublin.com for all the action.
