It’s Wednesday night and that means it’s time to name the winner of the weekly We Are Dublin GAA, Dublin Player Of The Weekend award.

For our new followers this is an award we give to the Dublin player that we feel was the standout performer from the previous weekends inter-county action.

Last weekend with had Dublin players from Camogie and Ladies and Men’s football to choose from and there were plenty who stood out and were in contention.

Although this is normally an individual award there was one squads performance that just couldn’t be ignored for just an all round top class display from start to finish which involved every member of the squad from the players that started to the substitutes that came on.

So in a change from the norm, the winner of the We Are Dublin GAA, Dublin Player Of The Weekend for this week is the entire DUBLIN U16A CAMOGIE SQUAD.

If ever you wanted to witness a real example of a complete team effort and performance then last Sunday in Caleen in Co Offaly was the place to be as the Dublin U16A squad gave such a display as they dismantled their hosts Offaly in a comprehensive Leinster Championship victory.

From the keeper right through to the full forwards and the substitutes, each and every player was outstanding in a display of pace, power, work rate, team work and shooting accuracy that was a joy to behold.

And it’s for that reason that we decided to break from the norm and give this weeks award to each and every member of the Dublin U16A Camogie squad. So congratulations ladies very well deserved for your stunning performance.
