Kilmacud Crokes 1-08 St. Judes 0-14

St. Judes continued their run in the Senior Football Championship this Wednesday with a three point win over Kilmacud Crokes. Certainly looking the hungrier of the two sides, Judes laid down the ground work in the opening half, dominating the breaking ball with serious pace.

Their defence worked overtime as Kilmacud struggled to open them up. After an early score for Crokes from Mark Vaughan, Judes hit six scores unanswered to set the tone for the game. At the break they lead Crokes by five and with a lot of work to do.

Cian O’Sullivan was introduced to try stop Judes flow and there was definitely a better showing from the Stillorgan unit. They gave themselves a lifeline halfway through the period with a goal from substitute Pat Burke, but it wasn’t enough despite Judes losing Ross O’Brien to a red card.

Kevin McManamon, Niall Coakley and Declan Donnelly led the charge for St. Judes as they keep the dream of a first ever Senior Championship alive, and now face Castleknock in their Semi Final next Thursday, October 27th in Parnell Park.
