Without a shadow of a doubt, some of Dublin’s most memorable moments in football over the last number of years have come from St. Judes attacking animal Kevin McManamon.
He did it in 2011 All Ireland Final against Kerry. He broke Kerry’s hearts again in the 2013 Semi Final.
But last year, after an all out scrap in the 2015 Semi Final against Mayo, Dublin found themselves in a replay for a place in the final. They needed some magic. And Kev could do nothing but deliver.
From a very unselfish hand pass from Brian Fenton just outside the D, Kevin read the flight of the oncoming ball perfectly, outpaced Mayo Defenders Chris Barrett and Keith Higgins, and slotted the ball above and out of the reach Rob Hennelly into the back of the Mayo net to secure Dublin’s All Ireland berth against Kerry.
Dublin fans will be hoping the Kevin Mc, whether he starts or enters the game late, waves his championship wand once again to help the Dubs to back to back All Ireland titles.
