“It’s not just a football and hurling club, it’s almost a movement.” (Mickey Whelan)

In the second of a two part special from AIG, volume 10 of the Dub Club Chronicles focuses on St. Vincents in Marino, one of the most famous clubs in Dublin.

Vincent’s club has a massive history, and so many household names, old and new. the club champions active participation across all members, St. Vincent’s is a club who’s huge success has been built on the back of each member’s dedication to the club. A club with an overwhelming sense of fairness throughout.

In this tribute AIG speak to Mickey Whelan, Brian Mullins, Tomas Quinn Senior and Junior, Pat Gilroy and Riain McBride, who talk about and channel the spirit of legends like Kevin Heffernan, Lar Foley, Jimmy Keaveney, Gay O’Driscoll, Tony Hanahoe, to name only a few.

With a club that has produced players like Ger Brennan, Tomas Quinn, Diarmuid Connolly and Eamonn Fennell it’s fair to say St. Vincents continue to achieve and be the best they can possibly be.

“Once you were part of the group, you were in. once you were in, everybody was with you”. (Brian Mullins)
