Tom Gray’s U20 Footballers start their John Kerins League competition following a successful 2019 season

U20 Footballers - John Kerins League

Meath v Dublin
John Kerins Development League
Saturday, January 4th. 12: 00pm. Dunganny

The 2020 season kicks off tomorrow for the Dublin U20 Footballers, and manager Tom Gray will be hoping his charges continue their ascendency as they face Meath.

Following last year’s league competition, the young Dubs went on to see off Longford, Wexford and Laois to secure the Leinster Championship title. From there they faced and beat Galway in the All Ireland Semi Final before succumbing to Cork in the Championship decider.

But for Dublin supporters it was a joy to watch the breeding ground for the next batch of budding footballers chomping at the bit. Players like Ross McGarry, Peadar Ó Coffaigh Byrne, James Doran and Brian O’Leary are only a few of the names that helped the side to the All Ireland Final. But it was the name of Ciarán Archer that rose head and shoulders above the rest.

The St. Maur’s man was a constant threat every time he got the ball in his hands and across the provincial and All Ireland competitions, Archer registered ten goals and thirty five points. That was over only five games. Who knows what Archer and the Dublin team could achieve this year.
