Charity Game In Aid Of The Laura Lynn Children’s Hospice

Tomorrow afternoon at 1.30pm in the Holy Family Community School in Rathcoole Team Dubs Will Take on a Best Of The Rest selection in the Albert Comyn Memorial charity game.

This year’s event is in aid of the Laura Lynn Children’s Hospice and the fantastic work and services they provide.

Tomorrow’s game will test the full skill set of the players taking part as it will be split 50/50 with one half Hurling and the other football.

There are a few familiar names on Team Dubs including former Dublin hurler and footballer Dotsy O’Callaghan and former Dublin football stars Jack Sheedy and Nipper McNally and the team will be managed by ex Dublin manager and coach Mickey Whelan.

The Best of the Rest team are not short of stars themselves with Marie Crotty, Gerry McGill and boxers Michael Nevin, Wayne Kelly and Christian Cekiso just some of the well known names on the squad.

And there are plenty of special guests who will be in attendance including 2019 All Ireland winner and Players’ Player of the Year award winner Dublin’s Siobhan McGrath who will throw-in the ball along with Martin Donnelly from MD Sports.

A multitude of stars from various sports will be attending the event including professional MMA fighter Richard Kiely who was trained by John Kavanagh at SBG.

Match commentary will be provided by Gearóid Ó Súilleabháin from Ballyboden St Endas and ourselves here at We Are Dublin GAA will be the MC’s for the day.

It promises to be a fun day as stars from the past, present and a little in between rub on the wintergreen and test their hurling and football skills all in aid of the fantastic charity the Laura Lynn Children’s Hospice.

Admission to the game is free of charge, in lieu of that there will be a bucket collection at the match plus raffle tickets for sale with the raffle and an auction taking place in the Poitin Still after the game.
