Dublin v Roscommon
Sunday, August 5th. 3:30pm
Croke Park, Dublin

Dublin are already guaranteed to top Group 2 in this year’s Super 8’s. And they know they’ll face Galway next Saturday in the All Ireland Semi Finals. A close eye will be on Ballybofey as Donegal and Tyrone battle for the remaining spot in the last four. Monaghan will be the winners opponents.

Roscommon have endured a couple of disappointing losses so far. And they’ll be hoping to produce a gutsy display against the reigning All Ireland Champions.

Jim Gavin’s team, though, know an All Ireland semi-final fixture awaits in six days. Being ready for that game is critical. So much so the Dublin boss has made as many as eight changes to the team that beat Tyrone two weekends ago in Healy Park. Michael Fitzsimons, Eric Lowndes, Paul Flynn, Eoghan O’Gara, Michael Darragh Macauley, Kevin McManamon,Cormac Costello and Paddy Andrews all get the nod for this afternoon’s clash at headquarters.

The depth of the Dublin panel for these type of matches has been evident previously and the impressive manner in which a string of last year’s Leinster and All Ireland Under 21 winning outfit are perfoming bodes well. Though both don’t start today, Eoin Murchan and Brian Howard have made massive contributions to the team’s successes in the Quarter-Finals Group Phase. Always seeking to improve and develop Dublin know that the most demanding tests are edging closer.
