Dublin’s Young Gun Features Twice in Cúil na Bliana Shortlist

There’s not much to be said that hasn’t already been said about the year Con O’Callaghan has had in 2017. At both Club and Inter County level, the 21 year old has reaped silverware at every juncture.

And both Con’s amazing All Ireland goal strikes have been shortlisted for this year’s TG4 Cúil na Bliana (Goal Of The Year) Award.

The Irish Language Network has again given unrivalled coverage of both Men’s Football and Ladies Football and has chosen a list of 15 Goals across both codes to select from.

The best goal will be be announced on TG4’s annual celebration at 5pm on News Year’s Eve.

O’Callaghan pounced in both the All Ireland Semi Final against Tyrone and the Final against Mayo this year, sending Croke Park into a frenzy on both occasions, proving how quickly the Dublin faithful have taken to this amazing talent.

Other names on the list include Dublin’s Eoghan O’Gara, Armagh’s Jamie Clarke and Mayo’s Andy Moran. In addition, Ladies Football is represented by three players; Armagh’s Amy Mackin, Mayo’s Grace Kelly and Cork’s Sadhbh O’Leary.
