O’Byrne Cup Semi Final

Dublin v Galway
Walsh Cup Semi Final

A massive weekend for senior football and senior hurling in the Leinster Bord Na Mona competitions. And both games will be played out at Dublin headquarters in Parnell Park.

The Dublin Senior Footballers will face Meath on Saturday night under the floodlights in the O’Byrne Cup Semi Finals hoping to advance to the competition final. And of course the Dublin Senior Hurlers will face a stern challenge as they face Galway on Sunday for a chance to reach the Walsh Cup Final the week after.

O’Byrne Cup Semi Final

For football fans it will be the first opportunity to see the Dublin panel this year as they’ve entered the O’Byrne only at this stage due to a bye. And as usual you can expect a lot of new faces being put through their paces under the watchful eye of Jim Gavin and Paul Clarke. Meath registered two wins in the three rounds of the cup so far, beating Laois in Round 1 and Wexford last weekend in Round 3 to make this Saturday’s tie. Recently they beat the Dubs in a challenge match in Pairc Tailteann to raise funds for the injured Sean Cox. So you can expect a nice tight game between these two counties.

Walsh Cup Semi Final

Mattie Kenny’s hurlers will be confident going into Sunday’s Walsh Cup Semi Final, despite the strength of their opponents Galway. Wins over Carlow, Offaly and Laois have given the senior team plenty of game time, but as this is pre-season we can expect the new manager to give some more players the opportunity to impress. And a win over the Tribesmen would be a sweet way to finish the weekend.

Both games can be accessed by paying at the Parnell Park gates on both Saturday and Sunday. Admission is €10 for adults and €5 for Students and OAP’s.

Please note Parnell Passes and Season Tickets are not valid for these two games. Proceeds of the games goes towards to Players Injury Fund.
