We’ll be on the ground at Croke Park later for the National Football League Division 2 Showcase
Dublin v Derry
Allianz National Football League. Division 2 Final
Sunday April 2nd. 1:45pm
Croke Park, Dublin
On March 4th this year the top 2 sides in Division 2 played out a classic match up at Celtic Park. Derry, the home side on that day pulled off an incredible smash and grab in the second half to take the points. It left Dublin lying in second place in the division 2 table. And even then it was apparent that the decider in the division would be between the Ulster men and Dublin.
Since then Dublin have added to their playing squad ahead of a highly anticipated championship campaign. As expected Paul Mannion has returned to the Dublin Senior Football set up. And with the addition of the highly decorated Stephen Cluxton to the panel it bodes well for their chances and supporters expectations coming into the summer.
While Dublin have in many ways underperformed in the Allianz League, they’ve done enough to secure Division 1 football next season, and today they have the chance to add some silverware to their trophy cabinet. Dessie Farrell’s men will aslo want to make up for the loss they suffered to Derry last month. Derry will want to maintain their unbeaten run and will see today as a huge step towards setting out their stall for the upcoming championship.
