Dublin will look to retain their Leinster U20 Football title in an earlier scheduled championship in 2020

Leinster U20 Football

The draw took place this week for the 2020 Leinster Football Championship. This year the competition will run earlier than last year, starting in February and ending in March.

Last year Tom Gray led the Dublin U20’s to provincial glory. Over three games, the young Dubs saw off Longford, Wexford, and Laois to seal the deal. It paved the way for Full Forward Ciaran Archer to become a household name, and pick up the EirGrid U20 Football Player Of The Year award.

This year the competition takes on the format of two opening rounds, followed by a Semi Final and the provincial Final.

Dublin will start their championship next year against Wicklow, with the winners of that game facing Longford. On the other sides of the draw, Carlow will face Wexford, with the winners facing Meath. And Louth will take on Offaly with the winners facing Kildare. Laois and Westmeath will avoid the opening round and face off in Round 2.

The dates, times and venue are due to be confirmed by the Leinster Council next week.
