Dublin v Laois
Sunday, June 24th. 4:00pm
Croke Park, Dublin

Jim Gavin’s Dublin panel go in search of their eight consecutive Leinster Senior Football title this afternoon as they face Laois in Croke Park.

The boys in blue have registered comprehensive victories over both Wicklow and Longford to reach today’s final, while Laois have Beaten Wexford, Westmeath and Carlow to book their place in today’s Final. As we know this is Dublin eight consecutive final appearance since failing to reach the Delaney Cup decider in 2010. Laois are in today’s final for the first time since 2007, when they were runners up to Dublin on a score of 3-14 to 1-14.

Dublin have won the last four Leinster finals by an average of just over 13 points, beating Kildare by nine last year, Westmeath by 15 in 2016 and by 13 in 2015 and Meath by 16 in 2014. And Dublin boss Jim Gavin will be hoping for more of the same this afternoon in his sixth season at the helm of this record breaking team.

A win today will see Dublin advance to the new All Ireland Quarter Final Super 8 format, meeting the winners of the Ulster Championship in the first of three games, on either July 14th or 15th. Donegal and Fermanagh will contest the Ulster title at 2:00pm.

Laois, however, will be looking to put a stop to Dublin’s run and beat them for the first time in the Championship since their win in the Leinster Semi Final in 2003.
