Fans can relive some amazing Dublin moments for an entire day on Eir Sport Dublin Day!!
This weekend some of you will be putting the final touches to the festive preparations, some will still be frantically scowering the shops for those last minute gifts, some will be still working, and some…. well some will be enjoying a feast for their blue senses.
Eir Sport are dedicating a whole days programming to the boys in blue. From 12 noon on Christmas Eve the satellite sports broadcaster will devote one channel for fans to relive some amazing matches from the annals of Dublin GAA history.
The action gets underway at 12:00pm with a look back at this year’s Dublin Senior Football Club Championship Final between St. Vincents and Ballymun Kickhams from Parnell Park.
At 1:30pm it’s time to turn the clocks back to 2013 and Dublin’s first of three All Ireland Final victories over Mayo since the the turn of the decade.
In the same year, Anthony Daly steered the Dublin Senior hurlers to their first provincial title since 1961 when they defeated Galway in the Leinster Championship Final. And at 3:00pm you’ll get the chance to relive that amazing game in Croke Park.
At 5:00pm there is a documentary short about Hill 16 which is followed at 5:30pm by the 2011 All Ireland Football Final against Kerry that was the starting point of Dublin’s recent success.
At 7:00pm fans can soak up the atmosphere of the famous 1983 All Ireland Football Final between Dublin and Galway. Whether you believe Dublin were “The Dirty Dozen” or “The 12 Apostles” this game is one of the most iconic in Dublin football history.
Finally at 8:30pm, Eir Sport round off the day with a look back at the 2016 All Ireland Football Final Replay between Dublin and Mayo, the second of Dublin’s now memorable three in a row All Ireland wins.
