The Leinster Quarter final fixture between Offaly and Westmeath this afternoon ended in stalemate, meaning Dublin will have to wait another week to find out who their opponents will be in the Semi Final in Croke Park on June 25th.
Offaly used the O’Connor Park home advantage to their favour and dominated most of the first half but at the break both sides were level on 0-06 each.
And despite the faithful county losing two players in the second half they clung on to force a replay, but will feel they missed out on advancing today.
Michael Brazil was dismissed by referee Padraig O’Sullivan after a second yellow card on 58 minutes, and a similar fate was handed to Ruairi Allen in injury time.
So next Saturday Westmeath will try take advantage of TEG Cusack Park in Mulingar for the replay between these two sides.
No doubt Dublin boss Jim Gavin will have scrutinised today’s proceeding, and will again next weekend.
