Well Dublin know their All Ireland Quarter Final opponents for this weekend and they’ll know what to expect from The Farney Army.
It’s only few months ago when these two sides in the last round of this year’s Allianz Football League, and a late goal in additional time from Jack McCaffrey saw Dublin through to their fifth consecutive Final appearance.
That afternoon, Dublin stretched their current League and Championship unbeaten run to 36 games, but Monaghan had other ideas for long periods of the game. Towards the middle of the second half, the Dubs were trailing the home side by six points, but goals from substitute Bernard Brogan and McCaffrey saw them eventually over the line.
Jack McCarron and Karl O’Connell were in inspired form for Monaghan, with McCarron scoring 1-09 in total on the day.
But Dublin prevailed and were eventual winners 2-15 to 1-15.
Scorers for Dublin:
Dean Rock 0-5f, Bernard Brogan 1-1, Jack McCaffrey 1-0, James McCarthy 0-2, Paddy Andrews 0-2, Ciarán Reddin 0-2, Brian Fenton 0-1, Philip McMahon 0-1, Ciarán Kilkenny 0-1.
Scorers for Monaghan:
