Dublin 0-16
Kildare 2-08

A brilliant second half from Paul Clarke’s young Dublin side seen them
dispatch Kildare in today’s O’Byrne Cup semi-final which was played in St Conleth’s Park in Newbridge.

Dublin were behind by two points after the first half and Kildare stretched that lead out to four points with the opening couple of scores of the second half.

But Dublin reduced the deficit to just a point with three unanswered scores from Niall Scully with a brace and the other from Colm Basquel.

By the 18th minute of the second period two Neil Flynn points gave Kildare a three point advantage but they were the last scores from the Lilywhites as Dublin dominated to the final whistle and hit five points in a row to claim victory.

Those points were scored by Conor McHugh with a brace which included the winning score, Ross Hazley, Shane Cunningham and Niall Scully.

Dublin will face Louth who beat Meath today in the other semi-final by 1-14 to 0-10 in next weeks O’Byrne Cup Final which is taking place in Drogheda at 2pm.
