Dublin Senior 1 Football Championship

Round 3 of the 2018 Dublin Senior 1 Championship is over and we now know the parings for this year’s Quarter Finals

A very busy weekend in the Dublin Club Championship, and after the games played from Friday to yesterday the Senior 1 Football Quarter Finals have been decided. Ballyboden St. Enda’s, Na Fianna, St. Vincents, Castleknock, St. Sylvesters, Kilmacud Crokes, St. Judes and Ballymun Kickhams have all successfully qualified.

Group 1

Kilmacud Crokes made it three for three on Friday evening in Balgriffin, with a very low scoring 0-07 to 0-04 victory over Raheny. But it was enough to get them over the line and top the group. A win 0-13 to 2-07 draw between Ballyboden St. Enda’s and St. Oliver Plunkett Eoghan Ruadh was enough to see Boden out of Group 1 and into the Quarter Finals. Unfortunately for Plunketts the draw wasn’t enough to see them avoid the relegation play offs.

Group 2

St. Vincents maintained their unbeaten record in Group 2 with a 4-18 to 0-13 win over Lucan Sarsfields. Sadly for Lucan it’s the relegation play offs. Elsewhere Na Fianna and Skerries Harps played out 1-12 score draw, meaning Na Fianna take the second spot. A vital win over Lucan in Round 1 seals their Quarter final spot.

Group 3

St. Sylvesters have a 100% record in Group 3 following their win yesterday over St. Judes. A 2014 to 1-11 victory put them top but Judes still come out of the group in second place as they had already registered two wins over Ballinteer St. John’s and Parnells. For Parnells it the relegation play offs as Ballinteer hit a 2-19 to 0-07 win over the Coolock side in O’Toole Park yesterday.

Group 4

No stopping Ballymun Kickhams again this year as they won their final game against Castleknock by 2-13 to 1-13. The game was played to decide first and second place so Castleknock will be glad they’re still in the knockout competition. Clontarf’s loss to St. Brigids means they’ll be joining Parnells, Lucan and Plunketts in the relegation battle.

So the Quarter Final draw has been made and the dates, venues and times will be chosen at a meeting tomorrow evening. For now, here are the pairings.
