Dublin Senior 1 Football Quarter Final Live Updates

Sunday, October 13th 2019

Not the best conditions for county football action but nonetheless we’ll been locating ourselves in Parnell Park once again as the second two games in this year’s Dublin Senior 1 Football Quarter Finals get underway.

Kilmacud Crokes v Clontarf

In today’s opener reigning county champions Kilmacud Crokes will look to defend their title as they head into their last eight clash with Clontarf.

Crokes enjoyed a clean sweep in Group 1, winning all three group games. They finished the rounds with a 2-19 to 1-10 victory over St Sylvester’s in Parnell Park.

A Pat Burke goal in the 27th minute gave Crokes the spark they needed and a very impressive start to the second half soon moved the Stillorgan side out of sight.

Clontarf nailed down their last-eight spot on score difference over Lucan Sarsfields after beating the west Dublin side 1-17 to 1-10 in their last Group 2 game.

Kevin Lillis was Clontarf’s top scorer as his tally of 1-6 lead his side to victory at O’Toole Park.

Lillis struck 1-6 for the winners with a penalty coming in the 12th minute following a foul on Brian Berney.

Castleknock v Thomas Davis

Castleknock edged out rivals St Brigid’s 0-15 to 1-11 in their concluding Group 4 game. A Tommy McDaniel’s free in the fifth minute of added time eventually separating the sides at St Peregrine’s, Blakestown Road.

The sides were level on seven occasions over the course of the game before Castleknock got the winner scores in the concluding moments. Seamus O’Carroll converted a 40 metre free to bring equality before sub McDaniel slotted the winner.

Despite losing to St. Judes in their final round game, Thomas Davis progressed to the last-eight, on scoring difference ahead of Raheny, capping a fantastic year in at Senior 1 level.

With Judes just edging the tie there was nothing in it during the opening period with Ryan Deegan top-scoring for Thomas Davis.

Neither side succeeded in opening up their opposition defence with Adam Fallon and Cian Murphy both doing well in the Thomas Davis defence.
