Dublin are through to the Leinster Senior Football Championship Semi-finals after a one sided easy victory over Carlow in O’Moore Park in Portlaoise this evening.

Dublin pr baby won’t get as handy a game for the rest of the championship as this one was long over long before Carlow were reduced to 14 men when midfielder Brendan Murphy received a second yellow card for dragging Jonny Cooper to the ground off the ball.

Jim Gavin will be pleased with a solid if not spectacular show from his team but then again they didn’t need to be today. He had the luxury of emptying his bench and giving a championship debut to ex Dublin hurler Mark Schutte.

Jack McCaffrey and Niall Scully impressed today but with Carlow playing 14 players behind the ball for the entire game it wasn’t really a day for anyone to shine.

Dublin won’t care one bit about that and will prepare now for a semi final in a couple of weeks against either Westmeath or Offaly.
