Week Ending Sunday, August 5th 2018
Well that was the week that was. A little quieter than usual but two massive games nonetheless. And the Inter County results went both ways for Dublin teams.
So here’s a quick roundup.
Liberty Insurance Senior Camogie Championship
A hard pill to swallow after a good championship but Dublin came up against a very polished Galway outfit yesterday evening in Pairc Ui Chaoimh. And Galway were relentless, stopping Dublin’s play for the entire hour.
With a full time score of 0-20 to 0-04, it means the season is over for David Herity’s senior panel and back to the drawing board to prepare for next year.
All Ireland Senior Football Championship
Well Dublin’s senior Footballers made it three for three in the Super 8’s with a more than convincing victory over Roscommon today in Phase 3.
Goals from Eoghan O’Gara, Paul Flynn and Michael Darragh Macauley were the difference as Jim Gavin made use of today’s match to examine some of the panel. Cormac Costello, O’Gara and Flynn all shone in a game of no real consequence.
The Dubs will now prepare to face Galway next weekend in the All Ireland Semi Finals. The winners will face either Monaghan or Tyrone in this year’s Championship Final.
And thats it for this week. Next weekend there’s more action in Ladies football and Camogie.
