Electric Ireland Leinster Minor Football Championship Round 2

A four point win after a thrilling second half saw Dublin’s Minor Football panel secure their secure their second victory on the bounce in the Leinster Championship.

The Dubs trailed by 0-5 to 1-1 at the break but took control of matters in the second half with Noah Byrne’s excellent goal within three minutes of the resumption leading to a period of dominance from the visitors.

A string of four unanswered points towards the end of the third quarter, including two sumptuous efforts from midfielder Senan Ryan, were crucial in giving Dublin a sufficient buffer to withstand some late home pressure.

Leinster Minor Ladies Football Championship Round 2

Meath survived a late Dublin rally to claim three valuable points in round 2 of the Leinster Minor Ladies Football Championship. Full credit to both teams for serving up an entertaining contest despite the rain and blustery weather conditions.

The sides were level on 1-02 a piece at half time, and Dublin were expected by many to take control of the game in the second half having the aid of the now roaring wind. But it was Meath who started to dominate proceedings with Lauren Woods banging home her sides second goal of the game within six minutes of the restart.

Dublin struggled to find their rhythm and Meath were gaining confidence. Ultimately only a solitary score seperated the sides at full time.

O’Neills.com Leinster U20 Hurling Championship Round 2

Two for two for Dublin’s U20 hurlers as they followed up their opening Leinster victory over Galway with a convincing 1-20 to 0-15 win over Wexford yesterday at Parnell Park.

Leading by 0-10 to 0-07 at the break the Dubs continued to impress on the restart. And at a 7 point lead in the 49th minutes they tagged on a goal scored by the brilliant Jamie Conroy to take the game a safe distance from Wexford.

Electric Ireland Minor Camogie Championship

The end of the season earlier today for Dublin’s Minor Camogie panel as they suffered a 4-15 to 2-07 defeat to Kilenny in their final round game in this year’s All Ireland Championship.

Despite failing to secure a win in the Championship, Dublin have improved as every game has been played and while they trailed by 2-08 to 0-05 at half time this afternoon they again didn’t let the heads drop. And 2 second half goals helped put a better look to the scoreboad for the visitors. Kilkenny were a stronger outfit registering an additional 2-07 to their scorecard.

Today was Kilkenny 3rd win in the competition, having lost to Galway in Round 2 and drawn with Cork in Round 4. And it secures their Semi Final slot.
