Diarmuid Connolly’s ‘pushgate’ saga looks to be at an end as it’s being reported that the St Vincent’s clubman has decided not to continue with his appeal against his 12 week ban handed down by the CCCC for an incident with a linesman in Dublin’s Leinster SFC quarter final against Carlow a couple of weeks back.

Connolly had decided to take his case to the Central Hearings Committee, but after a hearing in Portlaoise on Tuesday night that ran into the early hours of the morning, the CHC upheld the original decision and punishment handed down by the CCCC.

The Dublin star forward did have two avenues of appeal still open to him that he could have availed of, the CAC and DRA, but it now seems that Connolly has decided to accept the suspension and will miss the next three games and won’t be available for selection till a potential All Ireland Semi Final on the 27th Of August if Dublin make it that far by winning Leinster and going the direct route.
