Ballymun Kickhams 2-15 Kilmacud Crokes 1-10

The first of Saturday’s two Senior Football Semi Final clashes saw Ballymun Kickhams take on Kilmacud Crokes and it was an impressive Ballymun who progressed to the championship final following this comfortable eight-point victory over Kilmacud.

Sadly, it’s a victory that could unfortunately have come at a cost for Paddy Carr’s men with both Small brothers, Paddy and Johnny, forced off with leg injuries late in the game.

Paddy once again put in another stunning performance for Ballymun, as his team saw off the challenge of Kilmacud on an 0-08 winning margin. Goals from Dean Rock and Jason Whelan aided their cause and the sending off of Kilmacud’s Ross O’Carroll left the 14 men on the back foot for two thirds of the match.

A goal from Mark Vaughan in the second half just wasn’t enough to close the gap as Ballymun had already done the ground work, but to his and Kilmacud’s credit they battled right through to the finish.
